While the couple has yet to confirm or deny the rumors, they have been spending time apart and have been spotted without their wedding rings. According to a source close to Lopez, she has been trying to make the best of the past few months despite the scrutiny on her relationship.

In May, Affleck reportedly moved out of the Beverly Hills home he shared with Lopez. This summer, the couple has spent a great deal of time apart, with Affleck remaining in Los Angeles while Lopez traveled to Italy and spent time in the Hamptons. While a source close to her said this was not how she wanted her summer to go, she is trying to make the most of things.

“Her summer isn’t exactly what she originally had planned, but she’s making the best of it,” the source told People. “She’s always grateful for family time.”

Lopez hosted a Bridgerton-themed birthday party in the Hamptons, followed by a lunch with friends and family the next day. Notably, Affleck was not present at either celebration.

“She had a great weekend with family and friends,” the source said, adding, “She loves entertaining and enjoyed her birthday bash. She was in a happy mood.”

Originally, Lopez planned to be on tour over the summer, but she canceled it.

Because neither Lopez nor Affleck has spoken about their marital problems, rumors have flown about the possibility of reconciliation. Some sources say they have no intention of getting back together, while others say it is a possibility.

“They were ready to throw in the towel. Divorce papers are done and ready to be filed,” a source told The Daily Mail. “But they wanted to give it one last go before walking away from this and are going back to the beginning by writing each other letters. This is what made them fall in love in the first place.”

The couple broke off their engagement in 2004 and then reunited in 2021, so it doesn’t seem like a reunion is out of the question.

She has been divorced before

If Lopez and Affleck divorce, it will be her fourth marriage to end this way. In 1997, she married Ojani Noa, but they separated after just a year of marriage. In 2001, she had a similarly short-lived marriage with backup dancer Cris Judd. They divorced in 2003.

Lopez’s longest marriage was to singer Marc Anthony. They married in 2004, shortly after her relationship with Affleck ended. The couple share two children and were together for seven years. After announcing their intention to separate in 2011, they finalized their divorce in 2014.
