The legal fight between Jerry Jones and 27-year-old Alexandra Davis, who alleged the Dallas Cowboys owner is her father, is over.

Jones and the woman reportedly reached a settlement in a Texas court on Tuesday, bringing an abrupt end to the high-profile case.

The countersuit from Jones stemmed from a 2022 lawsuit that alleged that Alexandra was conceived during the mid-1990s amid a relationship between Jones and her mother, Cynthia Davis.

Jones, 81, had been suing over a breach of contract of a settlement he reached with Cynthia in 1998 regarding paternity, two years after Alexandra’s birth.

Judge Robert W. Schroeder III revealed that all cases for both sides were dropped “with prejudice,” which means the litigation is dismissed permanently.

Jones had been expected to testify, possibly on Tuesday, in the trial before litigation was dropped.

“I regret that it came to this, and I’m glad that it is resolved to everyone’s satisfaction,” Jones said after Tuesday’s proceedings, according to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth .

WFAA Dallas reported that Alexandra and Cynthia were also happy with how the trial ended.

Court records indicated that Jones had paid more than $3 million to Alexandra through trusts since her early childhood.

Jones has previously denied that he was Alexandra’s father.

Earlier this year, a judge upheld a decision that Jones, who has been married to his wife Eugenia Jones since 1963, would be required to take a paternity test to find out if he was indeed Alexandra’s father.

Jones, who had been late to Cowboys camp in Oxnard, Calif, will now head to Southern California to join the team ahead of their opening press conferences on Saturday.
