ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – The St. Louis County Council has approved the added money to fund the senior citizen property tax freeze program.

The council approved the measure, sponsored by Councilman Ernie Trakas, adding $600,000 to the $300,000 that was already authorized.

New mandates were also approved, including dropping the eligibility age from 67 to 62 as well as removing the ceiling on the value of a home in order to apply.

It is still uncertain when seniors can begin applying to the program.
