Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah , who is only under contract at Anfield until the summer of 2025 as things stand, has been sent a cheeky transfer message by Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds .

Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have their sights set on reaching the Premier League and have already turned the club into a global phenomenon thanks to the Disney+ documentary series "Welcome to Wrexham". Now in League One after back-to-back promotions, the club is set to embark on its journey in the third tier.

Reynolds is currently promoting his latest movie, Deadpool & Wolverine, alongside co-star Hugh Jackman. As part of the press tour, the pair were interviewed by the Premier League (with a clip shared on X/Twitter ).

Liverpool superstar Salah came up in conversation and Reynolds and Jackman were both asked about the Reds' number 11. Jackman's professionalism and longevity were compared to the Egyptian.

"Salah, to even be in the same sentence as you is incredibly cool!" he said. "And I went to see you by the way when we were filming — playing against Crystal Palace . I think you're awesome and I think you're amazing, and please, please, please respond to my DMs!"

Reynolds then cut in and looked directly down the camera. "Mo you would be warmly embraced at the Racecourse Ground in North Wales," he said. "Think about it."

Liverpool.com says: At some point, it might well be realistic for Wrexham to be signing some of the best stars in the game, but it was clearly a joke about Salah for now. As the Welsh side continues to climb up the divisions, though, it will only become more of a possibility that a transfer of that sort could happen.

Salah continues to be linked to the Saudi Pro League but Liverpool will not let him leave this summer. It should only be thinking about a contract extension to keep him on Merseyside beyond the end of this season when his deal expires. Still the Reds' most potent attacker by a distance, his time at Liverpool should not be coming to a close.
