11 Florida Big Lots Stores Appear To Be Listed As "Closing" On The Company's Website

If you live in Florida, you know that even large discount retailers are not immune to difficulties or closures. Although you might think that providing shoppers with a way to shop frugally might shield them from troubles, this hasn't always been the case. I've written about Florida losing some Family Dollar locations. And now Florida will lose some Big Lots as well.

About Big Lots' Difficulties: Although Big Lots just admitted "significant doubts" in its ability to go forward as a company in late July of 2024, the company was called a "bankruptcy risk" by Credit Risk Monitor months ago. Additionally, Big Lots has recently indicated that it intended to close 35-40 stores this year. At that time, the company didn't indicate where the closures would occur. But now, they've been named.

Where Florida Is Losing Big Lots Stores: Big Lots has put "closing this location" on its website for some stores. In Florida, the following stores are listed as "closing:" (Note that this may not be an exhaustive list as this is an evolving story, and I will update if banners change for additional stores.)
