Keeping up with all the Olympic action about to grace out television screens is an impossible task. For one, a lot of the action is happening at the wee hours of the morning in America, staying up-to-the-minute would create an awful sleep schedule for anyone. Second, there are so many events going on any given day that you'd need a whole casino-style surveillance room in order to watch every event.

Thankfully, for the more rational among us, NBC will be offering Primetime in Paris – recaps of the entire day's events to ensure fans are caught up. However, just because the Olympics start on July 24 doesn't mean that NBC's Olympic recap show will start July 24 as well.

As it stands, Primetime in Paris will start on July 26, the day of the Olympic opening ceremonies. NBC has stated that the show will have an all-new format intent on providing viewers with enhanced storytelling and up-close action. Here's what to expect.

    When will Primetime start?

According to a release from NBC Sports, NBC's Olympics primetime show will begin after covering the opening ceremonies. Primetime coverage will officially begin at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on July 26. NBC and Peacock will be covering the opening ceremonies at noon ET with Spanish-language coverage beginning at 1 p.m. ET on Telemundo.

What to expect from NBC's primetime show:

Aside from Olympics coverage, NBC has changed how their show is scheduled, opting to favor stories and gold medal performances above all. In their release, NBC stated that Primetime in Paris will showcase a gold-medal victory from that day's events within the first ten minutes of the show. Afterwards, the show will focus on not only recapping other major events, but offering "deep dives" on the Olympics' biggest stories and competitions. The show will cap off with its "Event of the Night."

NBC has also promised that this year's primetime show will "bring viewers behind the scenes with unprecedented athlete access," going as far as having interviews of athletes with their families as well as going inside Olympic village.

Olympics primetime schedule for July 24:

Although Primetime in Paris will not be on air for the first few days of competition, there will still be some coverage to watch primetime hours on July 24. A replay of America's men's soccer match against France will be showing on USA Network at 8 p.m. ET.

NBCOlympics.com 's broadcast schedule will feature a litany of other men's soccer replays as well. They will also air replays of Japan vs. Paraguay, Iraq vs. Ukraine, and Mali vs. Israel.
