The WNBA has seen massive growth in the last year. The arrival of stellar rookies jumpstarted what was already a growing league. It's fair to say that the league will only get better. That being said, WNBA legend has some concern about how the WNBA is growing.

Specifically, Parker is worried about how incoming WNBA rookies will handle the pressure of being the franchise star. The former Los Angeles Sparks star elaborated on the in an interview with CBS Sports.

"I feel that the talent level and the skill level is amazing," Parker said. "Where I worry is are we handing the keys to the Ferrari -- are you giving your kid a Ferrari when they first start driving?"

Parker knows what it's like to be the franchise star. For most of her career, she was the face of the Sparks. She knows all too well the pressures of having to be the face of a team in the WNBA.

Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark are doing a swell job of that. So was Cameron Brink before her injury. Can the new generation of WNBA stars continue this trend? Or will the league need to adapt and figure out a more sustainable model?
