Jeopardy! has released never-before-heard audio from the heartbreaking moment fan-favorite Isaac Hirsch realized his impressive nine-day streak was over .

The former champion was devastated when his Jeopardy! dreams ended on July 16 after he failed to do the correct math when trying to work out how much to bet. As viewers watched the moment air, they couldn't hear what was said as music played over the top.

Now, Isaac has appeared on the Inside Jeopardy! podcast to talk about his dramatic loss. During the interview, listeners were played the audio from the moment Isaac realized he had made a huge mistake.

In the clip, host Ken Jennings could be heard speaking to Isaac at the end of the episode. "Isaac, you're looking at your math right now," Ken said. Isaac admitted: "I did it wrong," sounding very deflated.

He added: "I did my math incorrectly." Ken replied: "So you were aware of the situation where everybody gets it wrong and you were trying to wager for the win in that situation?"

"That is correct, yes. Ouch," Isaac said. Luckily, he also saw the best of the situation. "This was, I mean, certainly one of the worst ways to lose but also one of the most fitting for me because I am bad at math so this pretty much fits with who I am," the champion said.

Ken then offered some reassurance as he replied: "If it's any comfort, it has happened many times out here before." Isaac had started his final game in a troubled position, stumbling into last place after struggling with a $3,000 fish Daily Double.

He finished the initial Jeopardy! round in third place, coming in at $400. Meanwhile, Erika had $600 and Jay was far in the lead with $7,800. "You are in third place, I believe, for the first time in your run," host Ken pointed out. Going into the last round Jay was at a whopping $16,200, while Isaac trailed behind him on $15,300.

Both Jay and Isaac bet big on the Final Jeopardy!. Jay bet $14,401, while Isaac bet $14,000. Erika played it safe, betting $0. No one answered correctly for the final question, so each contestant except for Erika lost big.
