A new Royal book has claimed that Prince William was absolutely "insistent" on one particular aspect of King Charles' Coronation , which involved his mother-in-law Carole Middleton. The book, titled ' Charles III: The Inside Story ' by Robert Hardman, reveals that William was unyielding in his demand concerning the attendance and inclusion of Kate's family on the significant day.

According to the author, the Prince of Wales was so firm in his stance that there was no option but to acquiesce to his request. Hardman believes this decision is indicative of the considerable changes within the Royal Family since the commencement of the late Queen Elizabeth's 70-year reign.

Hardman wrote that Prince William made a " direct request " for the Middleton family to be present and seated in a rather prominent position. This was in stark contrast to some members of the extended Royal Family's old guard, with only two representatives from the Queen Mother's family - the Bowes Lyons - in attendance.

The author also highlighted in his book that the Mountbattens - Prince Philip's family - were represented solely by Countess Mountbatten, with other relatives omitted from the guest list entirely. Even Lady Pamela Hicks, a former member of the Royal Household under the late Queen, was overlooked, reports the Mirror .

However, Carole and Michael Middleton, along with their other children James and Pippa, were all invited to this monumental event marking the dawn of a new reign, on the express request of none other than the Prince of Wales himself. As an insider source cited by Hardman informs: "'Having all of them there was very important to him... he was absolutely insistent that his wife's family be properly included."

Hardman, in his book, points out that this gesture underscores the significant changes within the Royal family since Queen Elizabeth's Coronation back in 1953, particularly highlighting the contemporary influence of the Middletons in comparison to Mountbattens' at the time of the aforementioned coronation. The book notes, "Such are the shifting sands," "that, seventy years on, the Middletons outnumber the Mountbattens four to one."

King Charles' preference for a leaner monarchy, comparable to some of his European counterparts, is no secret. This would mean a reduction in the number of royals working on taxpayer-funded duties, ensuring an economically more viable Windsor House that also aligns with present societal expectations This new revelation comes hot on the heels of the recent portrayal of the Middleton family in Netflix's hit-series, 'The Crown'.

The representation of Carole Middleton, in particular, sparked controversy, with a member of their extended family branding it as "evil".
