Victim identified after deadly five-car crash on I-81

PINE GROVE TWP., SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The victim of a five-car crash on Interstate 81 Tuesday afternoon has been identified.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on Tuesday around 4:00 p.m., a five-car crash occurred on I-81 mile marker 98.3 in Pine Grove Township, Schuylkill County.

Police say unit 1 was driving along the interstate when it changed lanes and hit the back end of a second car.

Troopers said a third vehicle could not stop when the two cars collided and ended up hitting the front end of unit 1. When the second car was hit due to the impact it caused two more cars to be struck as a result, PSP stated.

The front passenger of unit 1, Jennifer Perez-Wolfkeil, 66, of Florida, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The two drivers involved in the crash sustained injuries and were taken to Hershey Medical Center.
