WALMART has been slammed by a shopper who says she refuses to buy items from the retailer after being charged a "feel" fee.

Michelle, who posted on X under the username @honestlydntwanna, was appalled by the chain's "audacity" over the unusual charge.

"@Walmart How the hell are you gonna charge me a feel?!" she asked the retailer.

"For not spending what you feel is enough money at your store for this transaction?????

"Not doing it. The audacity of these huge companies."

Clarifying what she meant by "charging a feel," Michelle explained that a $6.99 minimum order charge added to her bill was unrelated to any service she was receiving, such as a delivery.

The image accompanying the post was a screenshot of her Walmart app showing how the cost of her shop was calculated.

It shows that the item she wanted to purchase cost $13.96, but she had saved $2.08, so it was $11.88.

However, Michelle's total cost was $18.87 after a surcharge of $6.99 had been added to her costs.

The digital basket summary revealed that the additional charge was due to the "below order minimum" of $35.

This means she would have had to spend $35 or more not to have the additional charge.

In the comments to the post, Walmart attempted to explain the cost.

"We'd like to provide some clarification, Michelle!" the retailer replied.

"In order to qualify for the free delivery, your cart will need to be a minimum of $35."

However, the shopper explained that she had not opted for delivery and was instead charged for a pickup.

Walmart urged her to privately message them for more details, saying, "We'd like to look into this further for you."

In the meantime, fellow shoppers slammed the nation's largest retailer.

"ARE YOU SERIOUS!? Stores are really out there slamming you w/ a surcharge for not spending ENOUGH? Just wow…" one wrote.

Not doing it. The audacity of these huge companies.

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Walmart for comment.

Meanwhile, some Sam's Club customers are furious about delivery changes.

The retailer revealed earlier this month that from August 19, some of its membership benefits will be changing.

The retailer has confirmed that free shipping for Plus members will no longer be available for all orders.

Instead, a minimum order fee of $50 has been introduced to get this perk, which Plus members previously got for free on all orders as part of their $110 per year membership.

The change has seen some previously loyal shoppers ditch the retailer, saying Sam's Club has "found a way to lose a lot of money."
