Led by the likes of LeBron James , Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry, Team USA is expected to dominate the Paris Olympics and bring the country another gold medal.

Even at 39, The King has stunned the audience with multiple great performances for Team USA during crunch time in exhibition games. While many have enjoyed witnessing James' dominance, NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith is worried about Team USA's reliance on the Los Angeles Lakers superstar. Smith expressed concerns after Team USA's narrow one-point win over South Sudan.

" Team USA was favored by 43 points, won by just one," Smith said . " Who had to save the day for them? A soon-to-be 40-year-old LeBron James. … They ain't going to get it done in the Olympics competition against what's waiting for them in Paris. I'm telling you that right now. In the end, give South Sudan major props, major credit, and all of that other stuff."

Smith blames USA's struggles on one crucial factor

The veteran NBA analyst pointed out that South Sudan doesn't even have indoor basketball courts. However, they were still able to give Team USA a run for their money.

Smith believes USA's close win was due to their inability to shoot the basketball from beyond the three-point line.

"There's no excuse for the game to be that close, and it ain't about all of this underestimating the competition. It's about the fact that they couldn't shoot the damn basketball," Smith added.

Team USA vs. South Sudan should have been a huge mismatch, but it turned out to be one of the most thrilling exhibition games in recent history. To put things into perspective, South Sudan shot a solid 14-33 from the three-point line. On the other hand, Steve Kerr's team shot just 7-28 from deep, with the disparity almost leading to a massive upset.

    James saved Team USA

Despite being the oldest player on the roster, James silenced his doubters by adding 25 points, six rebounds, and seven assists in 23 minutes of playing time. As a result, the U.S. came back from a 16-point deficit.

Although LeBron is playing sensational basketball, other guys on the team must step up their game before the 2024 Olympics star. After all, even the Lakers superstar can't do it alone, especially with the elite talent surrounding him.
