CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Clearfield County woman was arrested after police said they found a man pantless and bleeding from a stab wound.

Caitlin Elaine Harkins, 22, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon last week after an argument allegedly turned physical and a man was stabbed in the thigh.

State police said they were called to a home on Market Street in Newburg Borough around 10:19 p.m. July 16 after a 911 call came in about a domestic violence situation from a neighboring resident, according to the criminal complaint.

After arriving at the apartment, troopers said it was dark but a door was cracked open. When entering, the male victim came downstairs without pants and with an “actively bleeding” stab wound to his thigh, charges show. Harkins was then found hiding in a closet.

The victim told troopers during an interview that he had gotten home from work and an argument ensued. The two began to wrestle around when he was stabbed but was unsure of what he was stabbed with. Through the interview, troopers said he admitted it was a kitchen-style knife and Harkins stabbed him with a jabbing motion. It was noted that numerous cuts were observed on his legs, chest and right arm. He was then taken to Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

Harkins claimed the man was upset over not meeting him after work and they argued, but she denied harming him.

Troopers noted in the complaint that a pair of bloody jeans with a slit in the thigh was found, but they did not locate the described bloody knife.

Harkins was arraigned and placed in Clearfield County Prison with bail set at $50,000.
