Red Swan K-Drama Episode 8 Recap & Spoilers

Popular K-drama Red Swan aired episode 8 on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 4 p.m. KST on Disney Plus. The series follows the journey of two individuals Oh Wan-Soo (Kim Ha-Neul) and Seo Do-Yoon (Rain), who collaborate to expose the secrets of the conglomerate, Hwain Group. Wan-Soo heads the charitable NOW Foundation and meets Do-Yoon after he saves her life from an attack. The two grow closer while investigating into the group.

Episode 8 of Red Swan saw Oh Wan-Soo and Seo Do-Yoon take on Hwain Group and its members head-on, including Chairman Park Mi-Ran and fund manager Han Sang-Il. The two navigated challenges after people suspected them of having an affair. Ultimately, Wan-Soo and Do-Yoon realized their love for each other. By the end of the episode, a shocking revelation of late Chairman Kim Duo’s will left Wan-Soo in charge.

Red Swan K-drama Episode 8 spoilers

This week’s episode 8 of Red Swan picked up from the previous instalment when K1 attacked Wan-Soo and Do-Yoon upon Sang-Il’s orders. After seeing Wan-Soo unconscious Do-Yoon fought against K1 and rescued her.

Oh Wan-Soo & Seo Do-Yoon share an intimate moment

After fighting against K1, Do-Yoon rescued Wan-Soo and rode the boat to the middle of the sea. The following morning, Wan-Soo checked up on him when Do-Yoon reminded her of his promise to keep her safe. The two shared a kiss, confessing their love for one another. Meanwhile, Wan-Soo’s husband and Hwain Group heir Kim Yong-Guk came to look for her.

Wan-Soo was asleep when Yong-Guk arrived to meet her. He suspected her and Do-Yoon of having an affair but kept it to himself. After their photoshoot, Wan-Soo asked Yong-Guk questions about Kim Yong-Min being his half-brother and the suspicion that his father and later Chairman Kim Duo might have been murdered.

Han Sang-Il proceeds with his plan, Yong-Guk confronts his mother

Back at the Grand Palace, Chairwoman Park Mi-Ran grew furious over a shaman duping her of millions. After this was made public, Hang Sang-Il advised her to publicize Wan-Soo and Do-Yoon’s photos and state that they were having an affair. After giving it some thought, Mi-Ran decided to go for it. Sang-Il saw Wan-Soo fully recovered and thrashed K1 for not doing her job properly. He ordered her to prepare for another attack.

Soon, the photos reached the press, making it seem like Wan-Soo and Do-Yoon had an affair. Kim Yong-Guk confronted his mother about having an affair with Hang Sang-Il when he was a child and showing no remorse.

Meanwhile, Jang Tae-Ra grew emotional after witnessing their interaction and left home with her son Jun-Hee. At night, Yong-Guk reflected on his proposal to Wan-Soo and their growing distance. He even met Wan-Soo’s mother after her death but it was too late. Wan-Soo expressed that they no longer loved each other. Yong-Guk broke down.

Seo Do-Yoon tells Oh Hyun-Soo about the ledgers

Oh Hyun-Soo met Hang Sang-Il after his release from prison. Sang-Il agreed to his deal of giving him the funds but presented another condition. He asked Hyun-Soo to bring the original ledgers from Wan-Soo’s “lover” Do-Yoon. However, after Hyun-Soo confronted Do-Yoon, the latter revealed details about the ledger. He told her that Sang-Il wanted to take over Hwain Group after overthrowing the Chairwoman.

Upon asking if Do-Yoon was in love with Wan-Soo, he said that the two could never be together if they loved each other because she was married. At night, Do-Yoon secretly arrived at Sang-Il’s house and opened the safe. He eventually discovered that Yong-Min was Sang-Il’s son. However, he needed conclusive evidence to prove it.

After escaping from Sang-Il’s house, he saw Yong-Guk meet with Sang-Il in the house. Yong-Guk accused Sang-Il of killing his father and late Chairman Kim Duo so that he could inherit Hwain Group. Yong-Guk further warned Sang-Il to stay away from Wan-Soo, reminding him that he was a mere servant to Chairwoman Mi-Ran even though they had an affair.

Kim Yong-Guk threatens Seo Do-Yoon

Kim Yong-Guk held Seo Do-Yoon captive. He asked Do-Yoon if the two of them had an affair. Yong-Guk held a gun to his head when the latter revealed that him and Wan-Soo never slept together. He further revealed suspicions about Chairman Kim Duo’s murder. Wan-Soo also arrived in time and confessed her love for Do-Yoon.

However, as Yong-Guk grew more infuriated, Wan-Soo requested him to let Do-Yoon find out who killed Kim Duo. Yong-Guk broke down as Wan-Soo put her trust in him and hugged him. The following day, lawyers assembled to sort out the will. Sang-Il requested one of the main lawyers to tell him the contents of the win, but she refused to reveal any more details. While reflecting on his conversation with the late Chairman, Sang-Il remembered how Kim Duo knew about his affair with Mi-Ran and their illegitimate son Yong-Min.

Red Swan episode 8: What happens at the end?

By the end of the episode, lawyers read Chairman Kim Duo’s will. He decided to donate his KRW 18 trillion worth of slush funds to NOW Foundation. The money was kept in a bank in Switzerland and would only be cashed upon Wan-Soo’s visit and withdrawal.
