German Shepherd Meets Newborn Sister and It's Instant Love at First Sight

A beautiful German Shepherd dog very clearly loves her newborn sister, and watching her instant love grow even deeper is so sweet.

On July 17, 2024, TikTok user Megan Knighton (@meganknighton_) shared a sweet video of a dog and her falling deeply in love with her new sister. Take a look!

In a 15-second video , we meet Megan, who has a beautiful German Shepherd and a new baby.

"POV: Your baby becomes your dog's baby from the moment they meet," the text on the video reads. And during that section of the video, we see the new parents bringing in a baby carrier and a German Shepherd who is very excited yet very unsure.

That was until she met the baby face-to-face. When that happened, you could almost see the protection the tweet dog wanted to place around the tiny human right then and there. She would do anything to protect the little one, just like any ol' brother or sister would.

In the video, the German Shepherd carefully smells the little baby, who is wrapped in a swaddle and taking a nap.

In the next clip, the little baby is out of their car seat and taking a nap in their crib or just waking up from their nap. And, of course, her protective guard dog, the German Shepherd, is ready on alert.

The video shifts again, and now, the little baby is out of the crib and in one of their parents' arms while they're sitting on the couch. Cuddled right up next to them is the sweet dog who is taking the opportunity to really get a good smell of the little baby's toes.

Are German Shepherd Dogs Good With Kids?

According to Forbes , German Shepherds have a "naturally protective" temperament which can go great for families or not so great.

Forbes spoke to an expert who said these dogs "are generally great family members and often get along great with kids and other animals."

Adding, “They have gained popularity due to their intelligence and how brave and confident they are.”

German Shepherds ' protectiveness means They can develop deep bonds with family members, as we've seen in the above video.
