DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Montgomery County Administration Building will soon have a green tint to it.

In recognition of Child Support Awareness Month, the Child Support Division announced that the building will be green from Aug. 1-16.

The building’s illumination will kick off several events centered around awareness efforts.

Some events scheduled on behalf of the Child Support Division include a driver’s license reinstatement opportunity, “Wear Green Day” on Aug. 7 and a kids coloring contest.

In particular, the driver’s license reinstatement opportunity will be provided for the month of August, which will allow parents to regain their license after paying a month’s worth of back support.

The opportunity is not a debt forgiveness, but instead a “chance for parents to re-engage to help restore driving and earning capabilities for the sake of their children.”

More information about each event scheduled in August can be found here .

According to the Child Support Division, a bit over 50,000 children in Montgomery County benefit from the state’s child support program annually.

Parents can call 937-225-4058 on Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for additional assistance.
