No matter if it was R&B, gospel, rock, pop, and even classical music, Celine Dion could sing it all. During her career on stage, the icon sold over 200 million albums worldwide thanks to hits like “The Power of Love”, “Think Twice”, and “To Love You More.” And who could forget her lending her voice to the legendary song “My Heart Will Go One” from the hit film Titanic? While loving her career in the spotlight, Dion continues to struggle with stiff person syndrome. Not shying away from the illness, it appears that the star will take the stage once again thanks to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

All over social media, athletes have shared their time in Paris and preparing for the upcoming Olympics. But while they look to bring home gold for their country, Dion also prepares. But she won’t be competing. Instead, she’s rumored to take the stage during the opening ceremony to perform a single song.

According to initial reports, the single performance would cost the Olympics $2 million. However, those reported look to since been debunked.

“Contrary to some media reports, the performers at the Paris 2024 Games ceremonies will not receive a fee for their performance,” a spokesperson for the Paris Olympics told Page Six. “Their decision to perform under these conditions reflects their desire to be part of a historic event for France, and for the world of sports.”

The One Place Celine Dion Wanted To Visit One Last Time

While documenting her fight with stiff person syndrome in the documentary I Am: Celine Dion, the singer revealed how painful it can be. During one scene, Dion jolts back and forth on the table as medical professionals try to keep her calm while dealing with the symptoms. Not willing to give up, her return to Paris holds a special place in Dion’s heart. She told Vogue France how she wanted to visit the Eiffel Tower one last time. “I’ve chosen to work with all my body and soul, from head to toe, with a medical team. I want to be the best I can be. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again!”

Proving her determination to not let sniff person syndrome define her, Dion will take the stage during the opening ceremonies for what is sure to be a memorable performance. Even if it is only one song.
