Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to discuss the Borderlands wedding that will tragically remain in the vault (for now). For his upcoming movie adaptation of the fast-selling video game franchise, director Eli Roth tells Entertainment Weekly that he shot an entire wedding sequence between Wainwright Jakobs (Cheyenne Jackson) and his partner Sir Alistair Hammerlock (Charles Babalola), two popular characters from the games. However, the filmmaker says it was ultimately scrapped during the editing process because it threw off the movie's pace.

For DC Studios, the future is about to change forever. We’re within a year of the launch of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s rebooted cinematic DC Universe. Before Gunn's Superman starring David Corenswet flies onto silver screens next summer, however, a multitude of other DC feature projects are in the process of being released either in theaters or on streaming and DVDs. Upcoming features include one-shot animated movies and documentaries, as well as standalone live-action movies that fall into the category of "Elseworlds," which are projects that fall outside of the main DCU — Joaquin Phoenix's Joker, for example, is unlikely to appear alongside Corenswet's Superman.

It’s been almost 40 years since The Transformers: The Movie came out in theaters, but Transformers One director Josh Cooley will never forget the first time he saw it. "That one scarred me — and a whole generation," he tells Entertainment Weekly. The animated feature was the sequel to the popular 1980s TV series, and it infamously killed Autobot leader Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen) early on at the hands of Decepticon villain Megatron (Frank Welker). Cooley says the trauma of that shocking death heavily influenced him as he made his new Transformers movie — the first animated one in the franchise since that 1986 film — and he has no plans to scar a new generation of fans.
