Fighting sensation and Liverpool supporter Paddy Pimblett has called on the UFC's CEO Dana White to bring the promotion to Anfield as he prepares for his next fight.

The lightweight star will face off versus Bobby Green at Co-op Live Arena in Manchester on July 28 as he looks to extend his record of seven bouts unbeaten. Forming part of a bumper night of highly-anticipated contests, "The Baddy" is relishing the prospect of appearing in the octagon at a venue just over 30 miles from his birthplace on Merseyside.

However, as the native Scouser puts in his last preparations for the bout versus his American adversary, the 29-year-old has admitted that he aspires to fight in his home city one day. A self-confessed Liverpool fanatic, Pimblett named the club's famous old ground as his dream location for a bout in the future.

Speaking during an interview with AceOdds , the MMA fan favourite laid out his vision, saying: "Liverpool, obviously, bring the UFC to Anfield . I mean that'd be absolutely spectacular. That's what I want to do one day. I'd love to bring the UFC to Anfield and have the biggest crowd you've ever seen."

Aside from the Reds' L4 home , the fighter also earmarked the United Arab Emirates and Canada as two places where he is desperate to compete in. He continued: "Somewhere I've never fought - I know I'm gonna in the next couple of years, but I'd like to fight in Abu Dhabi, Dubai. That's a city and country I'd love to go and fight in. Also it’s tax-free, so it's even better.

"I've got a big fan who I love. I speak to him everyday. He's got my phone number and I speak to him on WhatsApp. Steve Jeffs. He's from Vancouver. I'd love to go there and fight there in front of him because he's been one of my biggest fans since like 2014. I'd love to go over to Canada and fight there."

For now, the popular star's focus remains firmly set on the matters at hand in the coming days in Manchester as he looks to defeat next opponent Green. Looking forward to the chance of fighting in England's north west, he predicted that he would be well-supported within Co-op Live Arena.

"Yeah, of course, the King of the North is back. I haven't fought in the North West since 2018, with a crowd anyway. A week after COVID, I fought behind closed doors in Manchester in 2020. But then I haven't fought in the North West since. I haven't fought in Liverpool since 2018."

Pimblett added: "I can't wait to fight this. The arena is only about 30 to 40 minutes from Liverpool. Every time I have fought in the UFC it has been down south in London and we've still taken over the arena every time. I can't wait for this in Manchester. It's going to be absolutely spectacular. It’s going to be Scousers everywhere."
