A McDonald's worker has made their feelings known about the $5 meal deal . The treat has been a customer favorite but it seems workers in the fast food joint don't hold it in the same regard .

One staff member, who goes by @lilpoohbadass on social media , can't wait for the deal to be over. The TikToker said: "So glad these 5$ meals is over tomorrow. It’s getting annoying."

In her video , the worker inputs the order into the POS (point-of-sale) system. First, she clicks on the “$5 McDouble Meal Deal.” Next, she hits the “ranch condiment ” icon followed by a small Fanta. To view the video, click here .

It seems plugging the deal is the frustrating part. The worker's video , posted on July 20, has attracted more than 230,000 views in just a few days.

Fellow workers flocked to the comments to share similar feelings. One wrote: "I’m so ready to say ‘we don’t sell that anymore'". Others were confused about the TikToker's claim that the bargain will soon no longer be available.

“No bc why are they extending them to September at,” one user, who appeared to work at McDonald's , scribed. Another chimed in: "One of my managers just said we’re extending it til August 8th."

A third said: "Ours already gone of the menu mobile app only." The deal has improved revenue for McDonald’s, according to New York Post, but hasn't seen a surge in customer, according to fast food gurus .

More than 90 per cent of US McDonald’s locations reportedly voted to keep the deal going hence why it is being extended into August for most locations.

BTIG analyst Peter Saleh, who keeps tabs on footfall at fast-food joints, reckons the golden arches might need to rethink their game plan and prolong the promo even longer.

He reckons the bargain is all about shifting Americans' view that McDonald's is pricey and to reel in more punters. He's betting on the special, which kicked off on 25 June, to get an extension till September, reports Seeking Alpha.

"It is too early to tell whether this $5 meal offer will drive more profitable traffic," Saleh said. "This will give us more time to get the message across and we can better estimate the effect on the number of customers ."
