    Collision between semi, car leaves man dead in Kandiyohi County

    A Honda driver was killed in a collision with a semi in Kandiyohi County, with police indicating the victim was not wearing a seatbelt.

    Minnesota State Patrol reports that a semi truck was heading eastbound on Highway 23 while the Honda Civic was going westbound when they collided near the intersection of County Road 5 Southwest.

    The driver of the Civic, identified as Jose Luis Nunez, 42, of Willmar, was pronounced dead at the scene.

    The report says that Nunez was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The semi-truck driver did not sustain any injuries.

    Police say that alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
