Friends make the world go 'round, especially when they come for a surprise visit. For one English Bulldog named Pancake, seeing her very best friend is the greatest day of the week and it's written all over her!

In a TikTok video posted by @thebabypancake on July 23, Pancake's joy is infectious as her human friend stops by to show some love. Watch the sweet girl's reaction below!

"The best day of her week," the caption says. In the video, Pancake, who's "meeting her best friend," cannot hide her excitement as her friend walks through the door. The sweet Bulldog immediately offers her belly for all the good rubs and love before licking, happily panting, and tail wagging to show her affection. Pancake is a total sweetheart with a friendship made in heaven!

Of Pancake's 18,000 TikTok followers, many commented at the pureness of this video, wishing they, too could get the same reaction from the happy girl.

"I would spend a lot of money for this experience this should be an attraction at Disney," one person joked. "I just wanna hug and cuddle pancake all day," another said. "I love how she gives her belly," another added, to which Pancake's Mom replied, "It's her signature move!"

Why Do Dogs Like Belly Rubs?

Most dogs seem to really love having their belly petted, but is there a psychological reason for it? Dr. Stanley Coren, Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the University of British Columbia and author of How to Speak Dog, tells the American Kennel Club dogs like belly rubs because it's another form of connection.

“For some dogs, a belly rub is simply a variant of being petted. It is a form of social contact," Dr. Coren says. "The fur on the belly is usually less dense and softer, so the sense of being touched is less muted.”

Not all dogs are fans of belly rubs , the site says. Those bred to be guardians can sometimes see the act as aggression while others simply prefer other ways of bonding. Though, adult dogs are known to roll on their backs to show puppies and even toddlers it's time to play, since it's known "as a signal for submission when they are afraid or threatened.”

Every dog is different so if your pup doesn't offer the same chance Pancake does, don't force it. They just might prefer a different type of affection.
