Mega Millions winner: $4 million ticket sold in Monmouth County

Monmouth County has a new millionaire.

One ticket sold for the July 23 Mega Millions drawing was purchased at Laurel Market in Hazlet Township. Not only did the ticket match all five of the white balls, but it was purchased with the Megaplier option, which made the ticket worth $4 million.

While that was the only big winner, 28 players won $500 by matching four of the five white balls. Five of those winners had the Megaplier option, which made the ticket worth $2,000.

The winning numbers for Tuesday's Mega Millions were 03, 09, 14, 26, and 51. The Gold Mega Ball was 21, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 04.

Another NJ Lottery player hit Cash4Life on Monday, matching all five white balls. That earns the winner $1000 every week for life. The ticket was sold at Bernardsville ShopRite in Somerset County.
