    JFK Airport fire sparks total chaos on the tarmac

    Chaos erupted at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Wednesday morning as a fire filled a terminal with smoke and forced hordes of travelers to be evacuated.

    Ten people were injured when tje fire broke out around 7 a.m. inside an escalator in Terminal 8, the FDNY told The Post.

    Of the ten people who were injured,  four were taken to the hospital to receive treatment, officials said. Their injuries were reported to be minor.

    Flight troubles linger following global tech outage — hospitals, businesses work to get back on track

    Nearly 1000 travelers were evacuated from the terminal and bussed to other areas away from the fire.

    Chaotic footage shared with the Citizen App showed police and firefighters responding to the terminal as hordes of passengers with luggage crowded around the airport’s entrances and a fire alarm blares.

    Other footage shared on X shows a flight being held on the runway from taking off.

    Several fire trucks and other emergency vehicles with their lights flashing can be seen pulling up to the airport terminal in the clips, which were shared by X user Kiko_Alvarez.

    The terminal was evacuated due to the smoke condition inside, fire officials said.

    Operations at the airport have since resumed, fire officials said.

    The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
