Nathan Fillion flaunted his great sense of humor in a new video while filming his TV show The Rookie , with fans labeling the actor "perfection."

The star, who plays the character John Nolan on the popular ABC series, took to Instagram to share a sneak peek at what happens in between takes, saying, "Here we are, downtown Los Angeles in the basement of a very old building filming another episode of The Rookie."

He went on, noting, "Things are going great, but I am feeling a little hoarse." But the last word had a double meaning, as Fillion then knelt to show an actual little horse —albeit a fake one—that he pet on the nose as he raised his eyebrows at the camera.

"Waiting to watch #therookieabc? Here’s a little something to watch while you wait," read the caption.

Fillion seemed to get a laugh out of fans, with people replying to the clip saying, "These jokes are so cheesy but so hilarious I swear," "love the dad jokes Nathan😭," and "Perfection 🤣."

"Oh Nathan… quit horsing around!" someone joked back, while another commented, "Must be night mare ish down in that dark basement 🤣."

Someone else said, "Nolan with the dad jokes — it never gets old 😂😂😂."

Many more fans shared their appreciation for Fillion's joke, while others commented about how much they miss his TV series. The Rookie 's 6th season ended in early 2024, but fans will have to wait until the start of 2025 for the upcoming Season 7.

Around the time that Season 6 finished its run, Craig Erwich , the president of Disney Television Group, shared with TVLine that The Rookie Season 7 will likely premiere in January. As for why it is coming later than usual, the network plans to air the entire season without breaks or re-runs to keep the momentum going the whole time.
