A couple looking for a name for their baby have been stumped when looking for Irish baby names .

The mom-to-be wrote on Reddit with get help with her baby name woe , but not everyone was keen on her favorite.

She posted: "My husband and I are struggling to agree on boys names. Since my husband is Irish, I thought he’d have a hard time saying no to Irish names . I was right!

"Here’s a few we like: Cillian, Shane, Cullen, and Shaun (I only agreed to Shaun if we didn’t do the Irish spelling 'Sean').

"I think my favorite is Cullen but everyone is kind of taken back when I suggest that name. As if it’s super weird and 'out-there'. What do you think of the name Cullen??"

Internet users chimed in, and not many preferred the name Cullen . In fact, one said it reminded them of the famous fictional vampire Edward Cullen from Twilight.

They wrote: "Cullen is decent, not my cup of tea, but still a cute name. it reminds me of Twilight lol."

They suggested instead: Callum, Cormac, Fionn, Nevan, Kael, Declan, Cassian, Callan, Keegan and Sullivan."

Another wrote: "Cullen is a fine name. Not something I would choose but nothing wrong with it either. Callum and Malcolm are similar but Scottish, not Irish. Kieran would be a good Irish choice with the same vibes. Ronan and Brennan are some other ideas."

But some linked Cullen. One wrote: "I love Cullen! My oldest son's best friend is named Cullen."

Another wrote: "I absolutely love love love Shane from your list! Underused, easy to spell and pronounce, ages well from baby to adult, and just feels gentle yet strong and rugged at the same time. Similar to Sean/Shaun on your list but bypasses the spelling issues."
