Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds‘ highly anticipated 18th album Wild God comes out on August 30, and ahead of that he’ll preview it at an intimate Brooklyn event. It happens at National Sawdust on August 15, and it’s part of the GRAMMY Museum’s “A New York Evening With…” series. Nick will appear in conversation following a playback of the new album, and he’ll also give a “brief performance.” Tickets go on sale Thursday, July 25 at 1:30 PM ET.

Shelley Duvall passed away on Thursday July 11th at her home in Blanco, Texas. The cause of death was complications from diabetes and news of her death was confirmed by her partner Dan Gilroy.

Kelley Stoltz released his 18th album, La Fleur, back in June, and one of its many highlights is the spacey, arm-waving anthem “About Time.” He’s has now made a video for it that tells a tale as old as time: an innocent who moves from the country to the city to make it big in showbiz, only to have his dreams dashed by evil managers and rockstar excess. Detroit rapper Veeze released one of last year’s most acclaimed rap albums with Ganger, and he’s been putting out new singles lately, including the recent “F.A.F.” (aka “Fucked A Fan”), which features Rylo Rodriguez. Now, he’s announced a headlining fall tour dubbed “The Worst Tour Ever,” which features support from Karrahbooo (the “first lady” of Lil Yachty’s Concrete Boys collective), Florida rapper Wizz Havinn, and rising Chicago-area rapper STAR BANDZ. The tour begins after Veeze plays DC’s Broccoli City Festival and Chicago’s Lollapalooza. Tickets go on sale Friday (7/26) at noon.

Caustic Welsh punks Mclusky broke up 2005, reunited for shows in 2014 and finally came back to North America for a tour in 2022 and 2023. Now singer/guitarist Andy Falkous, bassist Geraint Bevan and drummer Matthew Harding have announced that they’re working on their first Mclusky album in 21 years, which will be out in 2025 via Ipecac Recordings (which was co-founded by Mike Patton).

American Football have been celebrating the 25th anniversary of LP1 this year, but it looks like we might be learning a little more about LP4 soon too. The band have spoken about writing a followup to 2019’s excellent LP3, and now they’ve shared 24 seconds of what appears to be new music with the caption “track one.” The clip soundtracks a video of the American Football House, and it ends by displaying the date 07.31.2024, so presumably we’ll learn more on Wednesday. In Virginia, Drinking in public or offering another person alcohol in a public space is prohibited. This is a class 4 Misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $250.00. Portland, OR melodic metalcore purveyors Dying Wish and LIHC ass-beaters Pain of Truth have announced a co-headlining tour for this October, with support coming from the Bay Area hardcore band Outta Pocket and Connecticut’s deathcore-ish Balmora. The tour kicks off in Houston on October 7 after Dying Wish and Pain of Truth both play Furnace Fest, and it ends in Brooklyn on Halloween (10/31) at Monarch. There’s also a NJ date at Salty’s Beach Bar (10/29) shortly before the NYC show.
