Actress Jennifer Garner, age 52, has suddenly had a career change. That's right, she announced on Instagram on Tuesday that she has started her very own bird modeling agency after noticing how gorgeous some of the birds in her yard are.
I'm not sure if it's the warm weather or if, ummm, some of us have reached a certain age but suddenly everyone I know is very into birds. Check out this clip Garner posted and see her birds strike some very stylish poses.
Garner said in the video, "I just became a birder and it turns out that my yard has the prettiest birds in all of California. So I have a little modeling agency for dark-eyed junco and oak titmouse and California toowhee or toewhee."
She continues, "Yeah, I don’t know what to tell you they’re gorgeous. Drop dead.”
So many people in the comments are birders! One person said, "Ok that last one served tho with the head tilt." Another added, "It’s so fun!!! I have one camera feeder, a suet, and a normal feeder (normal meaning no stalker camera…lol). So far I have had: Cardinals, Bluejays, Bluebirds, Northern Bluebirds, Mexican Chickadees, White Breasted Nuthatch, Clarks Nutcracker, Sparrows, a Dove, and Yellow/Purple Finches!! I never thought I’d be a bird lady, but I love it!!"
How To Start Birding In Your Own Backyard
Birds are so fascinating.

If you suddenly find yourself spending time looking out your window admiring your backyard birds, you're not alone. Around 96 million people in the U.S. closely observed, fed, or photographed birds; visited public parks to view birds; or maintained plantings and natural areas around the home for the benefit of birds in 2022. That's more than 35% of the nation's population aged 16 and over.
It seems like suddenly you, me and everyone we know has gone bird crazy.
If you want to start watching birds, it seems pretty simple right? You just... watch birds. But there are some things that can make your new hobby more enjoyable.
They also explain that binoculars are great tools for getting closer looks at birds. They come at a range of price points, but our recommendation is to save up until you can afford a pair in the $120 to $180 range, where the optics are good enough to enhance your bird-viewing experience, not hinder it.
There are also some really cool cameras you can purchase for watching and identifying birds in your own backyard. I personally don't own this, but I always thought that the Bird Buddy looked super cool . You can also find similar at places like Amazon or other big box retailers.
