Good afternoon everyone. We shift our eyes from the Northeast for a few minutes and focus on the weather events along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast. Tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico continues to stream up and onto land in waves of energy for the past few days.

This latest band of energy about to move onshore, has with it special marine warnings issued from the National Weather Service. These storms are capable of strong winds with the capability to produce sudden large waves that can overturn vessels, and possible waterspouts.

As these storms come ashore areas of Texas and Louisiana could see this severe weather risk translate onto land in the form of damaging winds, frequent lightning, gusty winds, hail, and possibly a brief tornado.

As far as the Northeast, we are starting to see severe weather break out in parts of western and central New York. While we don't have severe thunderstorm watches at the time of this article, we do have individual severe thunderstorm warnings near the Niagara area, east of Watertown, and southwest of Buffalo.

We will continue to see this trend and progress as the afternoon wears on. Storms will be capable of large hail, damaging winds, frequent lightning, torrential rain, and isolated tornadoes. As with yesterday's action, expect this to begin to diminish after sunset.
