Prince William's eye-watering yearly earnings have been laid bare - and he's been seriously generous with it. Accounts show that his Duchy of Cornwall estate boomed in his first year at the helm, while his brothe r Prince Harry is set to bag a hefty inheritance, raking in an impressive $30 million.

The money keeps his Kensington Palace home ticking over and bankrolls the future monarch's plans , as he gears up for a massive summer relocation. But both William, aged 42, and Kate, also 42, have gone on a charitable spree, quietly making donations to causes supporting the Ukraine crisis and earthquake relief in Turkey and Syria.

They've also donated money to the London Air Ambulance, as well as mental health charities, reports the Express US . William pocketed a cool $30 million from the Duchy of Cornwall estate for the financial year 2023-2024, thanks to his status as the next in line for the throne, which entitles him to its profits.

This hefty sum helps cover his own living costs and the charitable work he and his family engage in. His private secretary, Ian Patrick, has been quick to clarify that William isn't taking on a load of new roles after a review of his Royal duties. Instead, Patrick says what we're witnessing is an "evolution" of previous requests by the Royal household.

The prince is soon set to take on the role of patron for the Welsh Guards Charity, the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, and the Victoria Cross and George Cross Association. He will also transition from president to patron of Fields in Trust, while also becoming the new patron of the FA.

Mr Patrick commented: "The Prince and Princess of Wales's number one priority is to deliver impact. The approach they take to their charitable endeavors is an evolution of how members of the royal family have worked in the past.

"Their royal highnesses wish to focus their time on a smaller number of causes that are aligned with their values and allow them to build deeper relationships with organizations, engage in a constructive way, and deepen their knowledge of the issues that these organizations champion."

In a modern twist, it has been revealed that William conducts business via WhatsApp messages. Alastair Martin, the outgoing Secretary and Keeper of the Records for the Duchy of Cornwall disclosed that unlike his father, who prefers phone calls, the 42-year-old Prince of Wales communicates through the messaging app.

Mr. Martin stated: "Sustainability is a passion that they both share but there are some differences. His Royal Highness, the 24th Duke, would telephone me. His Royal Highness, the 25th Duke, will WhatsApp me."

He went on to say: "The day after Her Late Majesty died, I rang Prince William to say, 'Welcome to your Duchy, Sir'. obviously knew him, I'd been working with him for the previous eight years or ten years to really explain to him what his future was during the time he was heir to the throne. And he said, 'I'm going to give you my mobile telephone number - if you want me, just get me, just message me'. And that's how he works and he is very involved.

"There will be weekends when my WhatsApp messages will be in double figures and I will be very responsive. If something has gone well or badly, I will want to tell my boss and he'll be straight back."
