The second that the Fourth of July festivities are over, Halloween lovers dive straight into prepping for their favorite holiday and honestly, we can't blame them. With the recent multiple heat waves and high humidity levels, we too can't wait for the day where we can walk outside and not immediately feeling sweat dripping down our backs.
The best thing about Halloween decorations, at least in our opinion, is that they don't need to be fancy to give off the ideal spooky yet cozy aesthetic. You can stop in at any affordable chain like Walmart or Dollar Tree and pick up the perfect pieces to build your very own decor, just like this adorable DIY. Check it out below!
TikTok creators Mikey and Jon run the page The Craft Guys ( @craftyguysco ) where they post tutorials of their favorite DIY projects, most of them centered around the upcoming spooky season.
These guys know how to take basic craft supplies and turn them into adorable pieces of seasonal decor, a talent we wish we had! One of their favorite places to source supplies is, of course, the Dollar Tree. You can't find better prices!
If you love Halloween but this year you want to keep your decor selection elegant and classy, then you need to try this DIY. The Craft Guys posted this video showing how they hand-make bat-themed candle holders, perfect for a dining table or coffee table centerpiece. Anyone can give this a try.
What You Need to Get Started
Your local Dollar Tree will most likely have these items available but if not, you can also find them on Amazon if you're in a pinch.
This craft cost the Craft Guys less than $10!
Their supply list was as follows:
- (1) simple black candle stand
- (1) small white candle
- (1) bat tree topper
- scissors
- hot glue or washi tape
- fabric (optional)
Step 1: Cut off the bottom of the bat tree topper.
Step 2: Secure the bat to one side of the candle holder using hot glue or patterned washi tape.
Step 3: Set or glue the small candle to the top of the holder.
Easiest hack for an adorable Halloween-themed piece of home decor.
