Swerve Strickland Wants To Make This Blood & Guts Match Unique And Different

Swerve Strickland previews the Blood & Guts match on the July 24th episode of AEW Dynamite .

Blood & Guts has become one of AEW’s top stipulation matches, and it is known for its brutality. AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland says fans expect more of that, but he wants this match to stand out from the rest.

In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated , Swerve Strickland stated that fans could expect blood as he previewed the bout, where he, Darby Allin, Mark Briscoe, and The Acclaimed will face The Elite.

“Expect blood,” Swerve Strickland said. “Expect guys to step up and become something more than they already are. This is our Marvel civil war. On one side you’ve got Iron Man leading the pack, and on the other side is Captain America leading the pack. And both have their own beliefs, and both believe they’re right and the other side is wrong.”

“Making this the most unique and different Blood and Guts, that’s the goal. There’s a lot of stories being told.”

Swerve Strickland: I’m Proud Of My Team

Swerve Strickland also said that a lot of the competitors, particularly those on his team, would be in the match for the first time, and they were stepping up. He emphasized that he was proud of them.

“A lot of us are in it for the first time and stepping up,” he said. “We get to see Mark Briscoe and The Acclaimed in this match, and we’ll see them jump up to the next level. I’m proud of these guys and I’m proud to be in there with them.”
