Tessa Thompson to Star in, Exec Produce Netflix Thriller

The Thor: Love and Thunder star will play a lead role and executive produce His & Hers , a limited series based on a novel of the same title by Alice Feeney. The six-episode drama will be Thompson’s first series work since Westworld ended on HBO in 2022.

William Oldroyd ( Lady Macbeth ), Bill Dubuque ( Ozark ) and Dee Johnson ( Fellow Travelers ) are writing the series — which will transplant the novel’s British setting to Atlanta — with Oldroyd also set to direct the first episode and Johnson serving as showrunner. The series comes from Fifth Season and Jessica Chastain’s Freckle Films, which snapped up rights to Feeney’s book soon after its publication in 2020.

Thompson will play Anna, a woman who, per the show’s logline, “lives in haunting reclusivity, fading away from her friends and career as a journalist. But when she overhears about a murder in Dahlonega — the sleepy town where she grew up — Anna is snapped back to life, pouncing on the case and searching for answers. Detective Jack Harper is strangely suspicious of her involvement, chasing her into the crosshairs of his own investigation. There are two sides to every story: his and hers, which means someone is always lying.”

Oldroyd, Dubuque, Johnson and Thompson (via her Viva Maude production company) will executive produce His & Hers with Kristen Campo of Campout Productions, Chastain and Kelly Carmichael of Freckle Films and Kishori Rajan of Viva Maude.
