With its stomach-turning gore and dazzling practical effects , Damien Leone’s “Terrifier 2” was a bona fide horror event in 2022, grossing over $15 million on a $250,000 budget. And this fall, genre lovers will be treated to another horrifying adventure from Art the Clown — this time with a Yuletide twist.

“Terrifier 3” picks up where its predecessor left off, this one following David Howard Thornton’s sadistic clown as he terrorizes the population of Miles County on Christmas Eve. Leone returns to write and direct with a cast that also includes Daniel Roebuck, Lauren LaVera, Bradley Stryker, Bryce Johnson, Chris Jericho, Samantha Scaffidi, Jason Patric, and Margaret Anne Florence.

“I knew the second I saw ‘Terrifier 2’ that it would be a generational horror film and was ecstatic when horror fans showed up to experience the movie in theaters making it one of the biggest indie horror successes of all time,” Bloody Disgusting vice president Brad Miska said in a statement to Variety announcing the film. “With ‘Terrifier 3,’ Damien Leone and Phil Falcone have handcrafted a theatrical experience like no other that will shock the hell out of audiences this fall. Art the Clown will slay October once again.”

“We’re so excited to bring the next ‘Terrifier’ to theaters this fall just in time for the Halloween season,” producer Phil Falcone added. “’Terrifier 3′ will deliver everything the fans expect and more with Art the Clown taking things to the next level. We can’t thank our fans enough for their support and for making us believe we’ve made something truly special.”

“Terrifier 3” will join a robust slate of horror (and horror-adjacent) movies hitting theaters in time for the Halloween season including Parker Finn’s “Smile 2,” Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” and Max and Sam Eggers’ “The Front Room.”

A Bloody Disgusting release, “Terrifier 3” opens in theaters on Friday, October 11. Watch the trailer below.
