Families of the hostages who have been taken by Hamas reportedly walked out of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s joint address to Congress.

As the war between Hamas and Israel rages on, Netanyahu spoke to Congressional lawmakers on Wednesday in support of his government’s efforts in the Gaza region. Nearly 40,000 Palestinians have been killed since the beginning of the conflict while hundreds of Israelis remain in captivity as hostages.

Some of the families of the remaining hostages were in attendance as Netanyahu spoke to lawmakers in the House Chamber. According to The Times of Israel reporter Jacob Magid , some of the relatives of the hostages walked out of Netanyahu’s address to Congress.

The family members allegedly walked out in protest as Netanyahu vowed to not rest until the hostages are released, resulting in the majority of lawmakers to applaud except for nearly a dozen hostage families.

“The pain these families have endured is beyond words. I met with them again yesterday and I promised them this. I will not rest until all their loved ones are home. All of them,” Netanyahu claimed.

He added, “As we speak. We’re actively engaged in intensive efforts to secure their release, and I’m confident that these efforts can succeed. Some of them are taking place right now.”

Reporters on Capitol Hill also revealed that other family members were removed from the chamber after they unveiled yellow t-shirts with the words, “Seal The Deal NOW.”
