    Thunderstorms possible in Western New York

    Update: Also, the National Weather Service has issued this alert —

    "STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN WYOMING... NORTHEASTERN CATTARAUGUS...SOUTHWESTERN LIVINGSTON AND NORTHERN ALLEGANY COUNTIES THROUGH 415 PM EDT... At 324 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Arcade to near Rushford to near Franklinville. Movement was northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. "

    Parts of Monroe County are under a severe thunderstorm warning this afternoon, with the risk of strong winds and hail.

    The National Weather Service in Buffalo issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Wayne County and east central Monroe County until 3:30 p.m. At 2:30 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located between Ontario and Fairport, heading east at 20 mph.

    The radar-indicated hazards include winds up to 60 mph and penny-sized hail. These conditions could damage roofs, siding and trees.

    The areas affected by this warning include East Rochester, Webster, Fairport, Brighton, Ontario, Penfield, Newark, Williamson, Marion, and Lyons.
