Attempting To Predict The NFL Division Winners In 2024

    By Drew Palmer,

It’d be almost impossible to predict all of the division winners in the NFL perfectly, but it’s fun to dive in and try to do it anyway. Every NFL season takes unexpected turns and jumps, but it’s impossible to foresee those things. But with what we know now, let’s take a shot at this.

    AFC East- Miami Dolphins (+210)

While this division could go a lot of ways, the one way that we know it won’t go is to the New England Patriots. That leaves the Bills, Jets, and Dolphins fighting for the division crown. Any of the three could come out on top. As in the NFL, the healthiest team will likely come out on top. In this rendition of the NFL, let’s go with the Dolphins. The Bills lack weapons, and the Jets almost entirely hinge on a 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers .

    AFC South- Houston Texans (+105)

The AFC South seems to be a lowkey powerhouse out of nowhere. All four teams are stout, with the Titans seeming to be the odd man out but still good. With the Texans building on the tremendous first seasons of CJ Stroud and DeMeco Ryans, it’s hard to pick against them here. They’ve only gotten better on both sides of the ball, and if Stroud can take the jump that some are expecting, he’ll ascend to superstar status in 2024 and take the Texans with him.

    AFC North- Baltimore Ravens (+140)

It is up for debate, but the AFC North is the best division in football. The Ravens, Bengals, Steelers, and Browns are all incredible. They could take the division on any given year, usually considering who can stay the healthiest. For this reason, the Ravens are the pick to repeat here due to the reigning MVP Lamar Jackson and the improved defense, but it’s maybe the toughest division-winner bet in the book.

AFC West- Kansas City Chiefs (-230)

This one doesn’t need much explaining. The Chiefs are the best team in football, and it doesn’t look like that will slow down this season. Pat Mahomes has a fresh set of weapons, and unless they suffer some catastrophic injuries, it’s tough to imagine anyone else grabbing the AFC West this season.

    NFC East- Philadelphia Eagles (-110)

While the Cowboys will certainly contend the Eagles in the NFC East, or NFC Beast as some may call it, we’ll ride with the birds here. The Cowboys sat on their hands in the offseason and didn’t change much. The Eagles made some excellent additions, including guys like Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper Dejean to bolster the aging secondary, plus the addition of Saquon Barkley to an already explosive offense. For that reason, it’s the birds out east.

NFC South- New Orleans Saints (+350)

Although the Falcons have revamped the team, and the Buccaneers have remained the same, the Saints are the sleeper pick in the NFC South, which is the worst division in the NFL. Hopefully, Derek Carr can settle in his second year in New Orleans under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. We know what we will get from the Saints’ defense, which is a consistently good unit. If the offense can figure it out, the Saints will be in the mix in the NFC South.

    NFC North- Detroit Lions (+135)

The NFC North has undoubtedly grown recently, but with young quarterbacks at the helm for the Bears and Vikings and the uncertain cast around Jordan Love in Green Bay, it’s the Lions here. They’re coming into the season as a heavyweight contender in the NFC, and they don’t have to play outside in the conditions very often this season. The Bears and Packers could contend, but it’s the Lions here.

NFC West- San Francisco 49ers (-195)

Much like the Chiefs winning the AFC West, the 49ers winning the NFC West doesn’t need much explanation. It’s not a bad division, but the Niners are just that good. The Rams and Seahawks could contend with them if everything goes right, but it doesn’t feel like the Cardinals are quite there yet. Until the Niners show me otherwise, they’re the cream of the crop on the NFC.
