After a decade-long battle with breast cancer, Shannen Doherty passed away on July 13, but not without mentioning the people she did not want at her funeral. Her death did not come as a startling shock, as the actress had been readying herself, having disclosed her burial plans on an episode of her Let’s Be Clear podcast.

Shannen noted that she wanted her guest list short and void of people who would cry publicly while being relieved by her passing deep down. She also gave the names of specific persons to be kept out of her funeral, noting that she wants the event to be a love fest.

Sources say that Shannen named her former co-stars, Jennie Garth from Beverly Hills, 90210, and Alyssa Milano from Charmed, as those she wanted off her guest list. Their feud was no secret news, with Shannen and Jennie getting into a fight over a prank and Alyssa not getting along with her due to personality clashes.

Shannen noted that she intends to take pressure off the named individuals so they are not obligated to do the politically correct thing by attending her funeral. She insisted on her podcast back in January that some people, likely Jennie and Alyssa, do not like her enough to truly feel bad about her burial.

Shannen let go of some property before her passing

In preparation for her imminent death, Shannen opted to get rid of some vanity, including her beloved antique furniture. She realized she did not need any of it and considered keeping excess items needless, hence her decision to give them away. In her words, helping people was a way to have a cleaner, easier transition to the great beyond.

In recent years, she has also worked to prioritize friends and family rather than material possessions, noting that she is grateful to build memories with her loved ones. She has also ensured that she takes care of the people in her life, especially her mother, Rosa Elizabeth Doherty.
