Hoda Kotb didn't let a little inclement weather put a damper on her exciting travel plans, she simply adapted–and fans are all for the genuine display of personality.

Ahead of her day of traveling over the pond to Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games , which kick off later this week, Kotb assumed her usual position as a Today co-anchor and broadcasted alongside Craig Melvin , Carson Daly , Al Roker and Savannah Guthrie from NBC's studio in New York City.

Her plan included coming to work prepared to head straight to the airport afterward, and all was going well until a series of storm clouds parked over the group as they stood outside for a brief segment. But the seasoned professional she is, Kotb, 59, didn't let a passing shower and light drizzle ruin her day. Instead, she added a plastic hooded poncho to her ensemble and kept dry.

The choice to step out in the orange poncho wasn't a fashion statement fit for everyone as her co-hosts quickly pointed out.

"Hoda, is there a monsoon coming we don't know about?" Daly joked in a clip uploaded to Instagram on Wednesday, July 24, which also noted "hoda always keeping it real."

"I have weather sensitive hair," Kotb told her co-stars.

"I'm going to get on a plane," she explained, "I don't want to re-blow dry. I'm keeping it all tight."

Today viewers praised the broadcaster for her authenticity, replying to the clip with comments like "She’s just like me fr," "Keeping It All Tight! I Feel You! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨," "😂😂😂😂 So relatable!!" and "Yes girl protect the travel hair 😍."

Her strategy appears to have worked, as a little while later, Kotb took to her own Instagram page with a clip of herself heading to the airport. As several fans pointed out, her hair remained perfectly intact and "looking good."

The 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony is set to take place on July 26, and it's the first time the event will be held in the heart of a city rather than inside a stadium. Those looking to catch the history-making event can tune into NBC beginning at noon EST on Friday for live coverage or stream it via Peacock, NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com, or the NBC/NBC Sports apps.
