Humans are very simple creatures, truly. It doesn't take much to get our attention, and one of the easiest ways to do it is through cute packaging. Speaking from personal experience, if something is cute, I am at least going to look at it.

As of Sunday, July 21st, one dog treat company got this down pat. Not only is the packaging of their newest line of dog treats cute, but it's also hilarious. Run, don't walk:

These are two of 4 variations of BARK's new doggy "cereal" line, which includes:

    1. Toot Loops (mixed berry flavored)
    2. Frosted Socks (yogurt and blueberry flavored)
    3. Lucky Duckies (turkey, chicken, and duck flavored)
    4. Go Nuttys (peanut butter flavored)

The treats themselves are absolutely not meant to be served in a bowl with milk like cereal, but rather, they should be given one at a time. They just look like cereal boxes and seem to parody some real cereals like Froot Loops, Lucky Charms, and Frosted Flakes - but, if you ask me, they're a little bit cuter than normal cereal. As a huge cereal fan, this is kind of a big deal to me!

    Can Dogs Eat Cereal?

If you think about giving your dog a little taste of anything you eat anytime you make something, know that you're not alone. It's only natural; they obviously want some, and we love to make our pets happy.

There are some human cereals that dogs can eat, but even those should be fed in small quantities since they hold no nutritional value. Any cereal that has artificial flavoring or is coated in chocolate should be avoided. If you want to give your dog a few pieces of cereal, you can give them:

    1. Corn or bran flakes
    2. Multigrain or whole grain Cheerios
    3. Rice Krispies/puffed rice cereal

Don't give any dog more than about a tablespoon of cereal per day, even if they're bigger and could likely handle it without issue. They just don't need to be eating too much of it; it will make them feel fuller, which might throw them off when it comes time to eat a real meal.

These BARK cereals are just treats, so feed them with the same caution you feed regular dog treats; don't overdo it. However, these might just be the perfect summer snacks for your pup!
