    Letter to the Editor
County Democrats ask for precinct change
    Dear Editor,
The Panola County Board of Supervisors have totally ignored the wishes of the voters of Patton Lane Precinct. On May 13,
2024, President Cole Flint gave Dr. Zannie Leland and the Board of Patton Lane Community Center a grace period of
August 1 to get the Patton Lane building repaired or find another place in the community to serve as Patton Lane Voting
precinct. But on June 3, 2024, the Panola County Board of Supervisors voted to move Patton Lane precinct to the Fire
Station on Van Voris Street. Dr. Leland or the Patton Lane Board was not notified by President Cole Flint concerning the
    vote.
New voters registration cards were mailed to all Patton Lane Precinct voters informing them on where they will vote on
November 5, 2024. Even though the Board of Supervisors has promised that it will be for only one time. The voters can’t
trust this to be true since the promise grace period was broken.
The Patton Lane Board of directors followed President Flint’s promised and arranged for one of the following churches in
the area to serve as Patton Lane Precinct for the November 5, 2024, election:
Church # 1 Deliverance Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, Pastor Benson Ford 662 934-7200
Church #2 City Refuge Church 104 Armstrong St., Bishop Calvin Wiley 662 428 5450
Church #3 Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 100 Hoskins Rd, Pastor Sammy Parker 662 519 3779
These churches were presented at the Panola County Board of Supervisors meeting on July 8, 2024, so that the Election
Commission would have plenty of time to make appointments to see inside and select the best church to serve as Patton
    Lane Precinct.
There are nine days before the August 1 deadline which is plenty of time for the Panola County Board of Supervisors to
keep their promise. They can make correction in the July 31, 2024, edition of the Panolian to let the voters of Patton Lane
Precinct know which church they will vote at for the November 5, 2024, election. This will give the Election Commission the
ninety (90) days they need to make the proper changes and send out the correct voter registration cards. If this isn’t done
by then, the voters of Patton Lane Precinct will have no other option but to vote for this one time at the First Station on Van
Voris St. If this happens, the voters of Panola County plans to work hard to unseat District 2, District 3, District 4, and
District 5 supervisors alone with District 1 and District 5 Election Commission when the term is over.
We need Supervisors and Commissioners that will represent the voters of Panola County that place them in their positions
to represent them and not for Supervisors and Commissioners to represent themselves.
    Done by the orders of:
Sardis District thirty (30) churches and Pastors and Other denominational Churches and Pastor of Panola County,
Panola County NAACP, Panola County Democratic Executive Committee, State Democratic Party of MS, Voters Protection
    of MS.
    Sincerely,
    Lourine Robinson
    Panola County
    Democratic Party
