‘The Bachelorette’s Aaron Erb Addresses Claims That The Show Is “So Scripted” On Instagram: “Next Stop Air Force Pilot Training”

The Bachelorette ‘s Season 21 contestant Aaron Erb has seen Bachelor Nation’s theories that the show is “so scripted,” and naturally he dropped an Air Force photo dump on Instagram in response.
On Episode 3 of The Bachelorette , which aired on ABC July 22, Erb self-eliminated after allegedly receiving a call from his Air Force supervisor, who told him his fighter pilot training dates came through and gave him an ultimatum. Erb claimed he had a day to decide if he wanted to remain on the show or pursue the dream he’d been working towards for over a year. In the end, Erb said goodbye to Jenn Tran and warned her that some remaining men were there for the wrong reasons.
Considering Erb’s track record on the show (he came, he met Jenn, he spent the majority of his screen time beefing with Devin, and he even gave him a seemingly fake self-help book as a nod to his brother Noah’s own Bachelorette drama) Bachelor Nation members started to wonder if he was a plant from producers whose primary purpose was to stir up drama. From his feud with Devin to the confusingly timed supervisor call to his decision to stir up drama on his way out the door, some felt Erb’s time on Season 21 was simply too chaotic to be genuine. Was he a producer plant? Did he really leave for the Air Force? To his haters, doubters, and anyone who thinks The Bachelorette is “so scripted,” Erb has a message.
“For the ‘wow the show is so scripted’ crowd…Phase 1 of the plan is in motion. Introducing for the first time 2nd Lt Erb 🫡Next stop Air Force pilot training ✈️” Jenn Tran’s contestant wrote alongside a collection of photos featuring him in his uniforms training at Maxwell Air Force Base Officer Training School in Alabama.
Following Aaron’s elimination and Instagram post, Noah commented in defense of his brother, writing, “You don’t need to explain anything 😤 I’ve seen how hard you’ve worked for this the last few years, go make our country proud 🥹”.
For those who need a refresher, after getting eliminated from The Bachelorette Season 16, Noah returned to screen on Bachelor in Paradise Season 7 where he wound up finding lasting love with franchise alum Abigail Heringer, who’s now his fiancé. After his Air Force dreams come true, perhaps we’ll see Aaron fly to Paradise for another shot at redemption and finding love within the franchise.
Until then, all we can do is hope he flies to Los Angeles when it’s Men Tell All time. While we’ll likely never know if producers planted him, we do have lots more questions for the Erb twin.
New episodes of The Bachelorette Season 21 premiere Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC with next-day streaming on Hulu. And be sure to read Decider’s pre-premiere interview with Jenn Tran for more exciting tidbits.
