Christina Hall andJosh Hall's divorce has turned contentious rather quickly, after the HGTV star accused her estranged husband of transferring $35,000 of her money into his personal bank account.

According to court documents obtained by ET, the Flip or Flop star, 41, claims "Josh was able to divert over $35,000 of my separate property rental income into his account." She further states, "I am asking for Josh to account for the funds taken and return them to me as those funds are specifically used to pay any loans, obligations, property taxes, insurance, and maintenance for these rental properties."

ET reached out to Josh comment and he denies any wrongdoing.

Christina, who says she owns rental properties in Franklin, Tennessee, and in Nashville, claims Josh contacted her professional property manager via text on July 8 -- one day after they filed for divorce -- and stated, "Hi. For June payments, can we please get it sent to a different account when it's time? Thank you." Christina, who attached a screenshot of the purported text as an exhibit to her filing, further stated she learned about this on July 21.

As for Josh's phrasing, "Can we please," Christina claims it's inaccurate because she "had no personal contact with Josh on July 8, 2024" and "I would not have asked him to send himself my money the day after I told him we are getting divorced."

She claims the property manager complied with the request "believing I had authorized the change of accounts and asked for account details and Josh provided his own Wells Fargo Bank account."

In her court documents, filed in Orange County Superior Court in California, Christina is requesting that a judge order Josh to return the money. She's also asking for exclusive use of the Newport Beach, California, residence. She acknowledges in the docs that the home is jointly titled in both of their names but claims that all of the funds used to purchase the property came from the sale of a home in nearby Dana Point, which she claims she owned.

But the estranged couple's spat over money and the marital home is just the beginning of what appears to be a divorce with all the makings of back-and-forth mud slinging. In her court documents, Christina states Josh's attorney sent her a letter demanding that shepreserve electronic evidence without it being automatically deleted.

"[S]o I unplugged [the] cameras so the system would not automatically overwrite the hard drive," she stated in court documents. "Each time Josh has returned to the house he has plugged the cameras back in, which would allow him to keep me and my children under surveillance. I object to him having that access into my home."

Christina also made a preemptive strike when it comes to paying Josh, 43, spousal support.

"I understand that at some point this court may require that I pay some spousal support to Josh and reasonable attorney's fees to his counsel," she stated. "However, it is my belief that this is a simple case with straightforward accounting over a short period of time, any fees and costs should be minimal."

She added, "Like all hard-working mothers, my life revolves around my children and my work. It is my understanding that Josh has his own income and therefore he should not need any spousal support from me. He has sufficient assets of his own to pay his own attorney's fees and costs. Quite frankly I am shocked and concerned by the fact that he has diverted over $35,000 of my separate property money to his separate account on July 8, 2024. The fact that this is the same date he now alleges to be our date of separation, even though it is actually July 7, 2024, makes it clear why he chose the next day."

Christina says this alleged ordeal makes her wonder "what else I am not aware of as it relates to his financial situation and that is why I am having a full forensic accounting performed for the entire term of our marriage."

Christina and Josh filed for divorce earlier this month after nearly three years of marriage. They secretly wed in April 2022 . Later that year, in September, they celebrated their union with a second ceremony in Hawaii, with Christina’s children in attendance. Christina shares daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 8, with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, and son Hudson, 4, with Ant Anstead.
