    Three Crossroads counties picked for FEMA shelters after Beryl

    AUSTIN, Texas - Three counties in the Crossroads are getting transitional sheltering assistance after Hurricane Beryl.

    FEMA's shelter program is coming to Jackson, Matagorda, and Wharton Counties.

    Under the program, FEMA pays costs directly to participating hotels and motels, including room rates, taxes, and some pet fees.

    Texans taking part in the program are responsible for all other costs.

    Qualifying texans who apply for federal disaster assistance will be notified by FEMA of more information.
