WASHINGTON (KCAU) — Iowa congressman Randy Feenstra is introducing legislation to help communities in the Hawkeye state recover and rebuild after severe weather conditions.

Feenstra unveiled the Storm Recovery and Community Restoration Act earlier today. The legislation would give taxpayers flexibility with their finances while recovering from severe storms and flooding. It would also remove limitations on charitable contributions made through December of this year.

Under the bill, tax penalties would be eliminated on those needing to access their savings during recovery.

Every other U.S. Representative from the Hawkeye state co-sponsored the bill.
