2 dead, 1 hurt in Charles County crash

CHARLES COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — A deadly crash in Charles County caused lanes on Route 301 to close for multiple hours on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened at around 2 p.m. on US 301 South at Popes Creek Road. Two cars were involved, a spokesperson for the Maryland State Police confirmed.

At least two people were killed and a third person was taken to the hospital.

All southbound lanes were closed through 4 p.m., reopening just before evening rush hour.
