The Manchester City midfielder has previously flirted with the idea of a lucrative move from the Premier League , telling Belgian newspaper HLN in June: "At my age you have to be open to everything. You're talking about incredible amounts of money in what may be the end of my career.
“Sometimes you have to think about that. If I play there for two years, I will be able to earn an incredible amount of money. Before that I had to play football for 15 years. I may not even reach that amount yet. Then you have to think about what that could mean next. But at the moment I haven't had to think about that yet."
Despite this, the Daily Star reports that family discussions have led De Bruyne to commit his future to City. Al-Ittihad's manager Laurent Blanc felt optimistic about luring the Belgian to the Middle East, but De Bruyne has chosen to avoid disrupting his family life, particularly the education of his son Mason Milian.
Pep Guardiola, who earlier asserted "Kevin isn't leaving", will no doubt be overjoyed by De Bruyne's loyalty to City. Recently reflecting on his time in England, De Bruyne said: "It's hard to say now (what my next move will be). "We will be sitting around the table in the coming months. I signed my contract at the right time. If you get a good offer and you tell Pep you want to leave, that is possible.
"This may be different at other clubs. But I have never indicated that I want to leave. I have more than enough money. But if an absurd amount comes... that is also for my family, my relatives, my grandchildren, my great-grandchildren and my friends."
Meanwhile, Guardiola has acknowledged the possibility of Ederson moving on, with potential interest from Saudi Arabia. "I don't know he has to see maybe now other options," Guardiola said, addressing the rumours surrounding the goalkeeper's future.
Liverpool.com says: De Bruyne staying in Manchester is a huge boost to City and a blow to the other 19 Premier League teams - including Liverpool. The 33-year-old is an outstanding player and still has, at the very least, another year at the top.
