    Showers, chance of flooding south of Triangle on Friday

    There is a flood watch south of Triangle Friday until 7 p.m.

    Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected with a localized amount of 3 inches possible. Occasional showers and storms are expected for the entire viewing area.

    Temperatures will only rise to the low 80s with 84 degrees being the forecast high.

    This comes after scattered storms throughout Thursday across much of central North Carolina. Wake County was under a Flash Flood Warning through 5:30 p.m.

    Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches were expected, with localized amounts of 4 inches or more possible.

    Looking Ahead

    This weekend dries out with temperature highs near 90.

    It will be a cloudy start on Saturday with late-day sunshine. Morning temperature lows will be in the 60s for the first time since early July.

    Rain could return midweek.
