The United States is once again sending a terrific group of swimmers to the Summer Olympics.
The biggest name, of course, is Katie Ledecky, the 27-year-old who already has six individual gold medals but could add a few more to her trophy case. She is expected to lead the way in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter freestyle races.
Caeleb Dressel and Simone Manuel are looking to rediscover gold form after dealing with burnout and overtraining issues in recent years. Simply making it to Paris was a major accomplishment for both swimmers, but standing on the podium would be the perfect ending to their incredible journeys.
It won't be just the Americans in the spotlight in Paris, though. Canadian teen sensation Summer McIntosh, Australian star Ariarne Titmus, two-time 100 breaststroke gold medalist Adam Peaty of Great Britain and home favorite Leon Marchand of France are among the other medal favorites entering the competition.
