Hugh Jackman was hit with a hardball question about his love life during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! alongside Deadpool & Wolverine co-star Ryan Reynolds Wednesday night.
Ryan , 47, and Hugh , 55, brought the funny for the show’s opening monologue albeit some of the jokes came at the expense of the latter. Hugh found himself at the end of Ryan’s mocking after they were asked a rather personal question from a fan who a show producer interviewed outside of the studio. Played for the Hollywood actors was a clip from an 11-year-old girl named Maya who asked them about their relationship status.
“Are they looking for girlfriends?” Maya asked into the mic that a producer for the late-night show was holding as they stood off-camera.

When the producer replied, “Why do you ask?” Maya gave a straightforward explanation. She revealed that she wanted to know because Ryan and Hugh “looked very lonely.” Hugh was giggling when the show cut back to him and Ryan hosting on stage.
After thanking Maya for her question, The Proposal leading man confirmed that he was married - Ryan has been married to Blake Lively, 36, since 2012. He then pointed to Hugh and began speaking gibberish following him saying, “And Hugh,” seeming to allude to Hugh not having anyone he’s seeing.
Hugh and 68-year-old Deborra-Lee, who he was married to for 27 years, announced that they were divorcing in September 2023 so they could “pursue” their “individual growth,” according to The Daily Mail.
According to the news publication, “The Australian actor is very private and has rarely spoken about his divorce, but the split has been alluded to in his new blockbuster Deadpool vs Wolverine.”
As the crowd laughed, Ryan pivoted to address Maya saying that he and Hugh “looked lonely.”
Talking to the audience, Ryan said: “The answer is yes, we get lonely sometimes.”
Adding his own response, Hugh chimed in, “But, luckily Maya, we have each other,” referring to Ryan. While Hugh was talking he pronounced Maya’s name a few different ways before he told her that the A-listers “had each other,” something that didn’t go unnoticed by Ryan.
“Yeah he doesn’t know your f- - -king name,” Ryan joked to Maya. “Because he’s an a- -hole.”
Ryan continued to tease that Hugh was “his a- -hole.” The in-studio audience cheered loudly for Ryan’s admission.
